It is now 4.30pm. Class ended about an hour and a half ago. Going home in about an hours time, just before it gets dark. It has been awhile since I last blogged properly. I guess I shall waste some time blogging now, just before this memory goes down the imaginary vacuum machine in the back of my head.

On the side note, I have survived long enough before this facebook timeline shit hit me. It finally came. Still finding it dumb as ever. Mehhhhh

Mumsu had an event planned out about 2 months back before the trip itself. I guess I understand why; it involved three universities : RMIT, Melbourne Uni and Monash Uni. We were to meet up at uni around 11pm, in the middle of the night as we had to head off to the city to pick up abour 20 plus people who were from the city (RMIT). Was dreading as we had to share a bus with people we don't know, and it was a midnight journey up to the mountains. Also because we had to ski immediately the next morning, that sleep was very very very much needed.

Soon the bus was filled up with Monash Clayton students and RMIT students. Assuming they were ALL MALAYSIANS as this was a collaboration trip within the three. If I was not mistaken, Melbourne Uni had 2 busses on their own? Or was it only one? Hrmmm. I wasn't too sure. I didnt get to meet many of them. I would have to say that they came with their own bus, we didn't get to mingle around much with them...? Hrmmm not too sure.

Reached Falls Creek close to 7am in the morning, it was SNOWING! For the first time in my life, I not only get to see snow everywhere, I got to see SNOW falling from the sky!! But of course, I was rather grumpy with my lack of sleep and I was seriously afraid of the cold, I couldn't bother much.

As soon as we dumped our luggage in a room, we had to get our skiing equipments (or snowboards). Then it was straight up to the peak for our lessons! For a complete noob like me, getting onto the skis itself was a big question mark for me. This was definitely something I have never thought of encoutering nor would I thought I will actually enjoy. :D Only by words that I took skiing instead of snowboarding as it was believed that skiing is much easier compared to snowboarding. What I learned that, anything that has to do with ICE and sports that is related to FEET, will be very tricky. The friction is something you have to find, in between of the balancing that is needed within the whole thing.

Learning to slow down from the slopes, learning to walk with the two heavy sticks on the end of your foot, learning that the boots are ungodly heavy (can somebody please tell me WHY ON EARTH ARE THEY SO HEAVY?! Much heavier than ice skating boots, man! D:), learning to steer through the snow. Beginners stuff, really. The temperature there is cold, extremely cold. But I guess it was the adrenaline to learn with that bizarre white layout everywhere was really distracting that it didn't really feel COLD at all. Yes it does feel cold after I realise it is cold, but it was almost immediately shaken off. Thanks to the snow on that morning, the layer of snow was fluffy and was rather nice to ski in. :D

Silly people like me, who has that thought, 'hey, I want to get down, but going down with that chair lift seems too scary... does it mean we have to ski our way down?'. So with the little experience we have on skiing, we went down the 'easiest' track. Which took us an hour because we were waiting out for one another and everybody was having problems with going down that slope. Some were thinking of walking all the way down, some were thinking of walking back up, but we all ended up going down anyways. Proud moment, actually. We all survived going down the slow with our gears! :D

But of course it scared the crap out of me. I still couldn't brake or slow down accordingly, turning seemed really scary still. Going down the slope again without anybody would probably be suicidal. LOL. Ended up hanging up there in the training grounds until I got bored before heading back to the bottom for a little rest.

Without sleep and a whole lot of skiing from 8 til 4 was pretty hardcore. :O

After getting our keys to the room, we immediately took turns to shower and went down for our much needed lunch.

We were all tired and we ended up passing out REALLY early that night. :P

HOHOHO~
same thing happend for the next day, we ski-ed from 9am til about 5.
This time, it took us half the time it took for us to go down that 'easiest' trail. Then I took up the courage to go onto other slopes as well, but only one other one though, I was still unsure if I was okay enough to tackle steeper slopes. :/

It is so hard to detect people up at the peak. Everyone has got their goggles on their faces and they were going down the slopes at different speed. You pretty much CAN NOT identify them unless they stop to speak or to take of their goggles for abit. Other than that, you would have to rely on your memory skills for remember the colour of the ski jacket that they were wearing. HAHAHAHAHAH

It didn't snow that day, and by 3pm, it was raining little droplets of ice. Worse still, it started fogging up, limited views drastically. As much as I wanted to ski somemore, the conditions were pretty much scaring me and I gave in at around 4.30pm.

The fog got me taking off my goggles just to see where I was skiing to. But the ice rain was literally poking my eyeballs with every drop from the sky! :( By the end of the day, my jacket and pants were drenched. Good thing they were water proof, other wise I would definitely be freezing in that weather. D:

My legs were pretty much jelly as soon as I took off those ski boots (seriously, why are they so ungodly heavy?!!).

Rushed down to dinner as soon as I can, as I was SOOOOOOOo HUNGRY! :X
Even sat there with a few of my newly made friends for the second round and was served more food eventhough I already had them. Since I was hungry, I went for it anyways. hehehehehe

Soon after, the Melbourn Uni people came over to our lounge and we had some icebreaking games. Made more friends, YEAY! :D Also had a game of charades. :F

That last night, I didnt' sleep at all.
Not too sure why, but something was telling me that I should be staying awake.
And I did. I ended up not sleeping at all for about 30 hours straight. HAHAHAHAHHAHA! I was half hyper to the extreme and was half DEAD. I was either doing something that I would normally do, but in a much extreme way or I would just stand there doing nothing while forcing myself to stay awake.

Left the the mountain about 2pm, reaching home at around 8.30pm.

Would have to say that the trip was rather short. But it was definitely something worth remembering. Made some new friends, and got to meet up with friends who I have met from the previous camp. The trip was seriously awesome, 3 unis of malaysian students, the mountain was literally flooded with asian kids, MALAYSIAN kids to be exact. :D

More trips like this, please? :)

I am honestly missing some of those people from the trip now. That feeling where I know I may not meet some of them ever again is SO HEARTBREAKING! :'(

Take care, people! <3
